Falling Off The Veggie Wagon and Onto a Plateful of Chicken Roll Ups

By Alicia

Only got to walk two miles again today -- my workout was cut short and the rest of the day was so crazy busy, I never got a chance to catch up.

It's 11:16 pm in Ohio as I type this and I'm still awake enough to go outside and finish my steps, but I've got a slumber party going on downstairs and my husband is already in bed. Someone's got to be alert and upright for chaos control! However, if I'm smart, I'll take a tip from Schmoe and finish my steps in front of TV.

Last night was the first night I fell off the vegetarian wagon. In my last posting, I said I was going to bed due to pulling an all-nighter...well, that never happened. I started working on one writing project, then the phone rang, and then one thing after another kept coming down the pike. Before I knew it, dinner time had arrived, complete with Rob hankering for something off of Applebee's Grill.

So we went to Applebee's. By this time, I calculated I had been up for 36 hours straight.  I was thoroughly tired, terribly cranky, and really hungry. I took one look at the menu and said "Screw the veggies. I want meat." And meat I had. The Oriental Chicken Roll Up, to be exact. I only ate half of it though because I inhaled the fries that came with it.

Up till then I had been good about my diet. In fact, with starting up my own business and still maintaining the domestic goddess duties, there's been little time to eat anyway. Even so, there's a lot to be said for getting your shuteye.

Seems to correlate with the ability to keep other parts of your face shut, too.

I just noticed it got awfully quiet downstairs. With kids, that can't mean anything good. Gotta go check out the party -- blog at you later!
