Lazy Monday
By Alicia
After the Halloween party yesterday, I couldn't wait for bedtime to arrive. I managed to make it to somewhere around the 9:30 hour before being physically unable to keep my eyelids up. I crawled into bed and sank into the sheets where, apparently, I didn't move until the alarm went off at 4:30.
I turned it off and went back to sleep. About five minutes later, it was 6:45 and my husband was checking me for a pulse. Whew! Can we say tired?
All of this is just a long way of me saying I didn't get my 10,000 steps in. I did, however, get a new pair of running shoes. Wahoo! I also got some new socks and some sort of energy sport gel that I want to try. All in all, I spent a total of $140 on myself today. I couldn't believe it. The only time I've ever spent that kind of money is grocery shopping.
It's worth it though! My ankles have finally stopped hurting. My arches no longer feel like they are caving in. And I seem to have more energy. I know you are only supposed to wear them for running, but I couldn't resist putting the shoes on tonight to run a few errands. Ohhhh, so heavenly. Like soft cushy toilet paper for the feet, only with great support for the ankles.
Tomorrow morning I'll try them out on the treadmill at the Watson Wellness Center. Can't wait to see how they feel!
P.S.
I'll provide weigh in details on my next blog entry. I've been skirting the issue of weighing myself today because of all the junk I ate the past few days. It's going to take me to Wednesday just to build up enough courage to get on that scale!
