An Indian's Summer's Day Stroll

By Alicia

After last week's tip off to the start of the holiday season, I haven't walked at all these past few days. However, I did get out and walk this morning in the sun and unusually warm weather. It was gorgeous -- a late November day with 62 degrees as the temperature. An "Indian Summer" day, as we call it around here, although I have no clue as to why.

I did gain 2 pounds this week as a result of all my thanksgivings (namely, thank you for that yuimmy slice of pumpkin pie, thank you for that second helping of those delicious sweet potatoes, and, oh, thank you so much for that really big helping of stuffing with gravy - mmmmmm!), but I'm not too worried about it. I picked back up on my weight lifting a couple of days ago and I'm ready to go back to walking as an everyday thing again.

We, as a family, are signing up to the Holiday Run at Sharon Woods. While it says 'run', we are going to walk, since the only running we can all sustain for any amount of time is just running to the bathroom. I am very excited by this -- any time I can get the whole family involved, exercise is even better.

Speaking of running, I have to go pick up a kid or two at choir practice. See you later!
