A litte Tai Chi with my Christmas Cookies
By Alicia
I have to admit that I haven't walked -- as in on a track or treadmill -- in the past few days. However, I have been doing a lot of walking getting Christmas shopping done, running up and down the stairs for laundry, wrapping presents, and other assorted domestic duties.
The running up and down the stairs thing plays more into my level of fitness than I had previously given it credit for. I counted the times I ran the stairs within the first half hour of waking up and it was no less than five. It's a good thing we don't live in a ranch-style house because I would probably weigh the equivalent of a bull elephant.
I've started doing Tai Chi in the morning and walking later in the day. For whatever reason, I haven't enjoyed being outdoors at dark 'o'clock in the morning even though the weather has been great, and haven't found any fun in walking at the gym. Must mean it's time to mix it up a bit again. I practiced Tai Chi before and I like the way it makes me feel--energetic but in a subtle way.
My weight thing hasn't fluctuated a bit, which honestly confounds me because after the cookie baking session at my sister's last Saturday, I should weigh at least two pounds heavier. Not counting calories, I ate that much in net weight of cookies alone. Mmmmm...so good! Nothing like warm-n-fresh from the oven cookies! So hard to resist....
Speaking of cookies, I've got a few more boxes to get ready for the mail. 'Tis better to give away than to receive, at least when it comes to cookies and my diet!
